Sompo recruits new head to drive accident and health beyond London wholesale

Bermuda-based specialty P&C re/insurer Sompo International Holdings has appointed Patrick Corbett as executive vice president and global head of accident and health for international insurance. Based in London, he will report to Richard Housley, chief underwriting officer for international insurance.

Corbett has over 35 years’ experience in insurance across Europe and Africa. He started his career as a loss adjuster before moving into underwriting at AIG, where he held positions including head of consumer lines, head of travel for EMEA and senior vice president of accident and health.

He joins Sompo from AXA XL, where he was chief underwriting officer for life, accident and health.

He will have responsibility for building out our A&H capability, beyond our traditional London wholesale offering, across the UK, Europe and around the world.

He will lead an established and dynamic team that strives to build solid, strategic relationships with clients to ensure that we deliver what they need for the long term.”
