Sompo appoints new EVP of North America Field Management

Sompo International has appointed Ron Willett as executive vice president, Field Management for the North America Region, Commercial Insurance. Willett will report to Jonathan Monks, EVP, head of Distribution, Business Development & Client Engagement for North America, and will be based in Boston.

In this newly created role, Willett will be responsible for leading the company’s geographic expansion efforts while continuing to build the field infrastructure for the North America commercial insurance business.

He joins Sompo International with over 30 years of industry experience, most recently as the head of North America Retail Distribution at AIG, where he has spent the last 26 years.

Monks said the appointment demonstrates Sompo’s commitment toward business development activities focused on distribution management, client engagement, and expanding its regional geographic footprint.
