Sagicor appoints Bart Catmull as CRO

Life re/insurance group Sagicor Financial Company has appointed Bart Catmull as chief risk officer (CRO). He was president and chief operating officer of the company’s US business and replaces Andy Gallagher, who was made chief executive and CRO of Sagicor Reinsurance Bermuda in July.

Catmull will be responsible for coordinating the Enterprise Risk Management functions across the Sagicor Group and also develop its environmental, social and governance (ESG) framework across all territories.

He has been with Sagicor for over two decades, joining the business in 1999 after seven years with PwC. He is also a certified public accountant and former chief financial officer.

Sagicor group president and chief executive officer Dodridge Miller said: “As a market-leading financial services company in the Caribbean with a rapidly growing presence in the United States, we are uniquely qualified to advance sustainability and other ESG principles across the group. This announcement is just another step in our continued Sagicor vision of improving the lives of the people in the communities in which we operate.”
