RiverStone hires Aspen’s general counsel

Legacy and runoff specialist RiverStone International has announced that Mike Cain has joined the company effective 25 July 2022 as group head of legal and company secretary.

In his former role at Aspen, Cain held the position of general counsel and company secretary alongside various other leadership roles including chief executive officer of their Bermuda platform. Riverstone itself opened an office in Bermuda in February 2022.

In 2007, Cain became the chief operating officer (COO) of Benfield Advisory which was responsible for the provision of advisory and M&A advice to the group. In 2008, he moved to Aspen as group general counsel, and had additional roles, including group COO, group HR director and, from 2015 to 2017, CEO of the Bermuda platform.
