
R&Q appoints chief claims officer for North America
R&Q Insurance Holdings, a non-life global specialty insurance company focused on programme management and legacy insurance businesses, has appointed Hillary Jarvis as chief claims officer for North America. She will report to Andrew Pinkes, global chief executive officer of legacy insurance.
Jarvis brings over 20 years of experience and was most recently the managing director of Claims–Compliance and Strategy at Markel where she led a team of 60 responsible for claims compliance, business intelligence, innovation, and strategic planning functions. Prior to this, she was general counsellor, second vice president to the Travelers’ largest claims centre. She started her career practicing law at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman and was counsel at Steptoe & Johnson.
Pinkes said: “Creating a more efficient and specialised claims’ function is an important part of our objective to deliver best-in-class outcomes and become a more data focused and scalable Legacy solutions provider. Hillary’s strong technical claims and legal expertise, along with her extensive experience in leading initiatives that harness the power of data, will be a valuable addition for R&Q and our customers.”
