Prudential appoints Cotter to lead new wealth business and Bermuda expansion

Prudential has created a standalone wealth business and appointed Donna Cotter as chief executive officer of wealth and Bermuda as the insurer expands its high-net-worth offering and establishes a Bermuda presence.

The appointment forms part of Prudential’s strategy to capture growing demand for high-net-worth wealth solutions across its Asian markets.

Cotter joins Prudential from Sun Life International, where she served as chief executive officer. Before that, she was global head of strategic partnerships for global insurance at HSBC Retail Banking and Wealth Management.

Earlier in her career, Cotter spent more than 14 years at Manulife in a range of leadership roles across Asia and Canada, including vice president and head of Asia wealth management, vice president for strategy and business development in Japan, and assistant vice president for corporate development in Asia.

Prudential said Cotter’s appointment reflects its continued focus on expanding its wealth capabilities and delivering differentiated solutions for customers across its markets.
