Mosaic prepares to launch its professional liability and financial institutions lines with two hires

Mosaic Insurance has made two appointments as it prepares to launch new professional liability and financial institutions units in the coming weeks.

Anna Jay and Christopher Webb join Mosaic’s London-based underwriting team as senior vice presidents.

Jay is named head of professional liability. She previously spent 18 years working across the specialty sector with a core focus on the product line. She spent a decade at QBE International before joining Pembroke Syndicate 4000 at Lloyd’s in 2016, serving as divisional director of professional lines.

Webb joins as an underwriter for financial institutions, reporting to Chris Brown. He has nearly 40 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s market, first as a financial institutions placing broker, and later as an underwriter. He has spent the last 13 years as a senior underwriter for Syndicate 4000.

Mosaic launched in February 2021. Professional liability and financial lines join Mosaic’s existing portfolio of war and terror and political violence, political risk, and cybersecurity.

Mosaic co-chief executive officer Mitch Blaser said Jay and Webb’s “deep experience and market knowledge will be invaluable as we prepare to launch these respective specialty lines in the next few weeks.”
