Markel names new head of trade, credit, political risk and surety
Markel International has appointed Carl Titterton as divisional managing director of trade credit, political risk and surety (TCPRS).
Titterton, who remains in London, took up his new position on February 1, reporting to James Hastings, Markel’s managing director of wholesale. He also takes a seat on the wholesale leadership team.
Titterton joined Markel International in April 2010 as a senior underwriter, specialising in credit insurance, and helped integrate the TCPRS team. He previously held senior underwriter roles at ACE European Group and Coface in an 18 year career that took him to London, New York and Paris.
James Hastings said: “During Carl’s ten years at Markel, he has been invaluable in helping the TCPRS team to develop important new lines of business and to expand into territories where Markel’s TCPRS accounts are now thriving.”
