Lancashire strengthens board with experienced HR professional

Lancashire Holdings has named Irene McDermott Brown as a non-executive director.

McDermott Brown is an experienced human resources professional (HR) who has worked in a range of industries, including financial services. She is currently chief HR officer at M&G, and has held HR roles at Barclays, BP, Cable and Wireless, Mercury Communications, Digital Equipment Company and the Electricity Supply Industry.

She takes a seat on Lancashire’s remuneration committee and nomination, corporate governance and sustainability committee.

Peter Clarke, Lancashire’s chairman, welcomed her experience in HR, remuneration and environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, which he said “will further broaden and strengthen the existing range of expertise on the Lancashire board.”
