Hamilton names Adrian Daws as CEO of its Lloyd's operation

Hamilton Insurance Group has promoted Adrian Daws to become the chief executive officer of Hamilton Managing Agency (HMA), its Lloyd's operation.

Daws is currently an active underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate 4000 and has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. He was one of the first employees Hamilton hired in London.

Meanwhile Miles Osorio will assume the position of active underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate 4000, while Mel Alexander becomes chief underwriting officer, London Branch, for Hamilton Insurance DAC, Hamilton’s Dublin-based carrier.

Osorio is currently the deputy active underwriter and head of property, and was also among Hamilton's first employees in London.

Alexander takes on her new responsibilities in addition to her current role as head of property binders. She joined Hamilton as part of its acquisition of Pembroke Managing Agency.

The promotions are all subject to regulatory approval and come in the wake of the resignations of HMA chief executive Tim Glover and chief underwriting officer, David White.

Hamilton group chief executive Pina Albo said: “Given the impressive progress in completing the integration of our acquired businesses, the talent we have throughout the company, and the significant optionality offered by our global platform, we remain ideally positioned to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the hardening market.”
