Flood forecasting insurtech Previsico appoints former RMS executive to its board
UK-based flood forecasting insurtech Previsico has appointed Matthew Grant, formerly of RMS, as a board advisor.
Grant spent 20 years at RMS as global head of sales and marketing and also founded specialist consulting firm Abernite. He has 25 years’ insurance experience, and serves as a partner at InsTech London, where he supports data, analytics, and technology companies seeking to access and grow in the sector.
At Previsico he will work to support the expansion of the business in the UK and US, where it has recently launched - and increase its global footprint generally.
Previsico specialises in modelling surface water flooding in real-time utilising the latest geospatial technology for weather predictions, in partnership with IBM, to deliver property-level flood nowcast and forecast warnings.
Previsico’s CEO Jonathan Jackson welcomed Grant’s “deep connections, knowledge and experience in the insurance innovation space.”
Grant said: “Previsico provides a unique offering that fills a big gap in the flood forecasting market. They have already had some great traction here in the UK, aided by their current presence on the Lloyd’s Lab.”
