Fidelis hires property treaty underwriter

Fidelis Insurance has hired Matthew Bellamy as an underwriter in London, with a mandate to grow its property treaty reinsurance book of business.

He will take up his post on November 1.

Bellamy has over 13 years of experience, and joins from Lloyd’s Acapella Syndicate, where he was head of property treaty and deputy active underwriter.

Fidelis has been writing property treaty reinsurance since 2017, and Rich Holden, executive head of reinsurance, said: “This is the right time to continue to grow our London reinsurance pillar.”

Bellamy added: “I am excited to join Fidelis and continue to build on Fidelis’ success by further expanding its property treaty reinsurance book in London, complementing Fidelis’ portfolio across the group.”
