Everest Re hires Stephanie Merkel in communications

Everest Re Group has appointed Stephanie Merkel as vice president of marketing and communications.

Merkel is responsible for leading the day to day activity of the marketing and communications team and reports to Everest Re Group’s head of marketing and communications, Dane Lopes. She is based in Philadelphia.

Merkel joins from Chubb where she served in a variety of senior marketing roles in North America, including supporting the major accounts casualty, ESIS and accident and health divisions. She has also held communications roles at AIG.

Lopes pointed to Merkel’s breadth of experience and depth of communications experience. “She will help us drive consistency in our messaging and brand, focusing on both internal and external communications,” he said.
