Everest Insurance has promoted Edward Wu to the role of vice president of excess and surplus (E&S) excess casualty national leader.
Wu takes on responsibility for developing and driving strategy and underwriting discipline, and leading production for the E&S excess casualty team nationally.
He joined Everest earlier this year as vice president and west coast regional manager for E&S excess casualty, before which he was vice president and casualty manager for the western region at Sompo International. He has also served as assistant vice president at Arch Insurance Group, and has more than 24 years of commercial casualty experience, with a focus on excess and surplus lines.
Everest’s E&S excess casualty underwriters are based across the Atlanta, Chicago, Stamford, Los Angeles and New York offices, while Wu is based in Los Angeles.
Connie Germano, senior vice president and head of specialty casualty at Everest Insurance, praised Wu’s leadership skills and strong broker relationships. “I am confident that this expanded role will allow Ed the opportunity to build and strengthen those relationships while driving continued success within the E&S excess casualty segment across all regions,” she said.
