Chubb reshuffles its North American accident and health management team

Chubb has appointed Suresh Krishnan as chief operating officer for its accident and health (AH) business in the US and Canada, a newly created role.

Meanwhile Eric Bartenstein has been named senior vice president and chief underwriting and digital officer for its North America AH division, which is also a new role for the company.

Krishnan assists in the oversight of the day-to-day operation of the business, as well as developing and implementing a range of strategies related to profitable growth for the business. This includes sales and distribution, claims and product development for the large account and middle market insurance segments.

He is based in New York and reports to James Walloga, Chubb's executive vice president for North America AH.

Krishnan was previously head of Europe's major accounts division, leading the development of business strategies. He joined Chubb in 1999 and has held a variety of executive-level legal positions, having led Chubb’s overseas general insurance division's multinational and large accounts strategy prior to its merger with ACE in 2016.  In that role he assembled and oversaw cross-functional teams in Asia Pacific, Africa, Eurasia, Europe and Latin America.

Walloga described Krishnan as “a strategic leader who has been with Chubb for quite some time and has a deep understanding of our business, our culture, and our clients' needs.”

Nadia Côté, Chubb's country president for France, succeeds Krishnan as head of the major accounts division for Europe.

Bartenstein focuses on leading the transformation of North America's AH business into a digital environment, making it easier for clients and distribution partners to do business with Chubb.  He is based in Philadelphia and reports to Walloga.

Bartenstein has more than two decades of experience in AH underwriting, having previously served as chief underwriting officer for the AH business.

Walloga said: "We are committed to creating an ideal environment and experience for our clients and distribution partners."
