Chubb hires John Fielding as general counsel for global government and industry affairs
Chubb has hired John Fielding as senior vice president, general counsel for global government and industry affairs.
Fielding provides legal, regulatory and policy guidance and advice to Chubb's state, federal and international government affairs team. He coordinates and ensures consistency in advocacy throughout the company's government affairs activities and represents the company in other regulatory and industry settings.
He joins Chubb from the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers (CIAB), where he served as general counsel for four years. He was also of counsel with law firm Steptoe and Johnson, spending more than a decade representing CIAB and other insurance trade associations, carriers and producers before Congress and various government and regulatory agencies.
From 1997 to 2003 he was senior counsel for financial services at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).
Fielding, who is based in Washington, DC, reports to Joe Wayland, executive vice president and general counsel and Chubb Group.
