Chubb appoints new legal chief in Bermuda
Chubb Bermuda Insurance has promoted its deputy general counsel, James Paugh to the role of senior vice president, general counsel.
He is responsible for directing all legal and regulatory activities within Chubb Bermuda and Chubb Bermuda International, overseeing all legal matters and the execution of Chubb’s compliance functions. He provides legal and strategic advice to senior executives and underwriters regarding property, excess casualty and financial lines coverages, and advies on risk management issues.
Paugh is based in Bermuda and reports to Judy Gonsalves, vice president of Chubb Group and division president of Chubb Bermuda.
Before working in Bermuda Paugh served in a variety of roles in Ireland. He was managing counsel and head of claims for Chubb Bermuda International Insurance Ireland, and before that legal and compliance manager for Chubb European group’s Irish branch.
He joined Chubb as assistant vice president of claims for ACE Bermuda Insurance in Hamilton, from O’Melveny & Myers in New York.
