Brit appoints Michael Wade as a strategic consultant
Brit has appointed Michael Wade as an independent strategic consultant, to serve as an adviser to its management team and as an external ambassador for the group.
Wade brings over 40 years of experience in the insurance market. He acted as the crown representative for insurance at the UK Cabinet Office, advising the UK government on re/insurance risks on projects including Pool Re and Flood Re. He has also advised UK Chancellors of the Exchequer on the ILS markets, and in 2015 was appointed a senior advisor to the Cabinet Office.
Wade is currently non-executive chairman at TigerRisk Capital Markets & Advisory, senior non-executive director of Neon Underwriting and a senior adviser to Swiss Re.
Matthew Wilson, group chief executive, said Wade will bring important insight, experience and expertise to the management team. “Despite the disruption COVID-19 is causing, Brit has made strong strategic progress recently, including the launch of Ki, the first algorithmically traded syndicate,” he added.
Wade added: “It is an exciting time for Brit as it cements its position not only as a market leader, but a firm at the forefront of driving innovation across the insurance industry.”
