AXIS Re appoints Emilie Hungenberg as senior property underwriter for EMEA and Latin America

AXIS Re has hired Emilie Hungenberg as a senior underwriter of property for EMEA and Latin America.

She joins from investment manager Schroders, where she was a senior ILS underwriter and project manager, responsible for underwriting collateralised reinsurance for Europe, Bermuda and Lloyds. Before that she held progressively senior roles in underwriting and client management with RMS, MS Amlin, Sompo and Odyssey Re.

Hungenberg takes on responsibility for underwriting a property treaty portfolio for France, Benelux, Iberia and Africa and works in partnership with the underwriting team responsible for these regions. She is based in Zurich and reports to Gino Smith, head of property, EMEA and Latin America at AXIS Re.

Smith highlighted Hungenberg’s strong technical underwriting background and her extensive commercial network throughout the region.
