AXA XL strengthens environmental underwriting team in New York

AXA XL has hired Odette Novoa and Erica Delaney as senior underwriters in its environmental insurance team in New York.

Novoa joined from Aspen where she was an underwriter of environmental and casualty lines in both domestic and international markets. Before that she worked at AON as an account specialist.

Delaney joins from The Hartford where she served as a northeast regional pollution underwriter.  She also formerly worked at Aspen, as well as Preferred Concepts.

Both report to Hiral Shah, head of environmental, east region.

Shah said: "Environmental insurance has become more of a staple in businesses' insurance portfolios. As pollution incidents can easily result in a five or six-figure clean up price tag, businesses have found environmental insurance to be an effective tool in protecting their bottom line.”
