AXA XL makes promotions in UK client and distribution team
AXA XL has made a number of appointments in its UK client and distribution team.
Allan Murley has been named as head of broker management for the UK. Tim Smith becomes head of client management for the UK, while Christine Cook takes up the role of head of portfolio solutions for the UK. All three are based in London and report to Louise Piper, head of UK client distribution.
Murley is responsible for leading the UK Broker team and working with regional underwriting teams to profitably grow the UK book of business. He joined Zurich in 2000 and rose to the position of head of business and broker development. He joined XL Group as a client distribution leader in 2014.
Smith is responsible for leading the UK client team and working with underwriting teams to profitably grow the UK book of business. He has nearly 30 years’ experience in insurance, and has held roles in claims, underwriting and business development, having previously worked at Willis, Independent Insurance and QBE. He joined Zurich in 2006 and rose to the position of broker leader for commercial insurance, and joined AXA XL in 2018 as a senior casualty underwriter.
Cook is responsible for coordinating and developing portfolio solutions, supporting the head of client and distribution and the global head of portfolio solutions in the UK. She joined Catlin as an underwriting assistant in the Marine team and was most recently senior class underwriter for portfolio deals, in 2016. In that role she was responsible for the underwriting, management and strategic development of portfolio deals, as well as devising and executing the business strategy for UK MGA Angel.
