Aspen Insurance Holdings has hired Crystal Ottaviano as to be its group chief risk officer.
Ottaviano joins Aspen from Swiss Re America where she was chief risk officer since October 2013, responsible for overseeing the reinsurers property and casualty business in the region, before which she was senior vice president of operational risk management. She has also worked at Hiscox, where she was head of risk management, developing the risk management strategy for the US specialty insurance business.
She takes up her position on March 2, and will report to Mark Cloutier, executive chairman and group chief executive officer.
Cloutier said Ottaviano’s “proven ability to understand business needs and challenges, coupled with her excellent experience developing financial and risk management strategies, make her a valuable addition to our strong leadership team.”
