Aspen Insurance has appointed Andrew Kudera as executive vice president and group chief actuary, with Paul Frydas, Aspen’s former group chief actuary, becoming chief analytics officer.
Frydas remains chief actuary for Aspen Bermuda, as well as Aspen Insurance UK and Aspen Managing Agency. In his new role he leads strategic pricing, aggregation management and modelling for the group.
Kudera, who takes up his post on February 3, has 40 years of actuarial experience in the re/insurance industry, having served as group chief actuary at Validus Group from 2010 to 2019. He has managed his own consulting firm, and has held senior level roles at Fireman’s Fund, Endurance and KPMG.
Mark Cloutier, executive chairman and group chief executive officer, said: “{Kudera’s] capabilities and fresh perspective, paired with [Frydas’] considerable expertise and experience, will create a strong partnership across complementary disciplines.”
