XL Catlin expands structured risk solutions team

XL Catlin has appointed Aiden Joo as senior underwriter in New York, as it announced that it is extending its structured risk solutions underwriting capabilities to the US. He will report to Rob Turner, XL Catlin’s global head of structured risk solutions in London.

“Our clients are looking for new, innovative risk management solutions to address their changing business exposures,” said Turner. “To meet this continued demand, we are excited to build out our capability in the US with Aiden joining us in New York. His experience will prove very beneficial as we develop custom-made risk transfer solutions to assist our corporate and captive clients in achieving their strategic objectives.”

Joo joins XL Catlin from Zurich Global Corporate where he was an underwriter and deal architect, developing a variety of insurance solutions including integrated insurance programs, risk financing and alternative risk transfer programs for large corporate clients.

XL Catlin’s Structured Risk Solutions team has offices in London, Cologne, Zurich and New York is a global underwriting unit that provides clients with structured and customised solutions for large and complex risks, where there is currently no insurance product offered by the market.
