Willis makes Bermuda and capital markets appointments

Willis has appointed David Spear, as vice president, senior health care in Bermuda; and Rui Huang and Quentin Perrot as senior vice president and vice president within its growing capital markets division.

Spear will co-lead Willis’ health care team, which specialises in the design, placement and servicing of professional, general, excess and umbrella liability insurance and reinsurance for US-based health care institutions.

Spear worked previously at Aon, Zurich North America and JLT Park (Bermuda).

Commenting on his appointment, Michael Barnfield, chairman, Willis (Bermuda) says: “With 17 years of industry experience, David has amassed a comprehensive knowledge of the risks facing health care clients and the insurance and reinsurance solutions best suited to appropriately address their needs.

“His experience will give added bench strength to our existing presence in the vibrant Bermuda and health care market and help to foster a more collaborative relationship between the US and Bermuda marketplace.”

Huang has been appointed to Willis’ Hong Kong office where he will continue to develop Willis Capital Markets Advisory’s (WCMA) strategic advisory business in Asia.

Huang previously worked at Temasek, Financial Institutions Group, Morgan Stanley, Rothschild, Dresdner Kleinwort and Bank of America.

Commenting on his appointment, Michael Guo head of WCMA Asia says: “Asia represents a key area of growth both in terms of investment banking and insurance, as economies in the region continue to emerge and grow. Rui’s extensive experience in both of these sectors will be a key component in helping us to increase our value proposition to clients in the region.”

Perrot will be joining Willis as vice president of ILS based in London. He joins the broker from BNP Paribas.
