Third Point Re appoints new underwriting executives

David Drury and Steven Wilson have each been appointed to the position of senior vice president, underwriting, at Third Point Reinsurance.

“We are very excited to have David and Steven join the Company as they bring proven track records and significant underwriting experience to the team,” said Robert Bredahl, president and chief executive officer of Third Point Re. “Their expertise, analytical skill and commercial approach will be valuable, particularly as we continue to focus on the contribution made to our profitability through our underwriting by broadening our risk portfolio.”

Before joining Third Point Re, Drury spent over fifteen years at Chubb in various senior roles, most recently as chief underwriting officer of Chubb Tempest Re Group, Chubb's worldwide reinsurance operations. His prior roles at Chubb included division president, Chubb Tempest Re Bermuda; chief risk officer, Chubb Tempest Re Group; and chief underwriting officer, ACE Financial Solutions. Prior to joining Chubb, Drury served in various underwriting and actuarial roles for Western Atlantic Re, Zurich Re, and Stockton Re.

Prior to joining Third Point Re, Wilson most recently served as a head of financial and professional lines at Munich Re America, where he managed the professional liability and credit/surety/political risk underwriting departments. Prior to that, Wilson served in a variety of senior underwriting and actuarial roles at Munich Re America, covering a wide range of casualty business including medical malpractice, umbrella and workers' compensation.  Prior to joining Munich Re America, Wilson worked at KPMG with a focus on reinsurance.
