Sompo appoints Brule as chief risk officer

Bermuda-based Sompo International has appointed the former chief executive officer of Sanlam Pan Africa General Insurance as its chief risk officer. He is based in Bermuda.

Emmanuel Brule said on his LinkedIn page: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at Sompo International!”

Brule was at the Sanlam and Saham groups in Casablanca, Morocco for around seven years, serving as deputy CEO of Saham Financial before becoming CEO of Sanlam Pan Africa General Insurance.

He was previously at American International Group, where he was based in a number of European countries, eventually working as chief risk officer for EMEA and a director of AIG Europe Holdings until 2015. He began his insurance career as an underwriter at Scor.
