RenaissanceRe appoints group CUO
RenaissanceRe appoints Ross Curtis as group chief underwriting officer. He has been promoted to the post currently held by president and CEO, Kevin O’Donnell and will start from July 2014.
Curtis was previously active underwriter of RenaissanceRe Syndicate 1458 at Lloyd's. He will relocate from London to headquarters in Bermuda.
O’Donnell says: "I am pleased to announce the promotion of Ross to chief underwriting officer and acknowledge his many contributions over the past 15 years in both an underwriting and strategic capacity. He will oversee all assumed and ceded risk across our enterprise and will continue to uphold the very high standards of disciplined underwriting, risk management and client service that have long defined our company."
Bryan Dalton, senior vice president, will fill the position of underwriter, subject to approval. He has been with the company for over 12 years.
David Marra, SVP and chief underwriting officer for casualty and specialty, will relocate to the Connecticut office where he will continue to lead the development of the US specialty reinsurance business.
Justin O'Keefe, SVP and chief underwriting officer for property, will remain responsible for property underwriting at a group wide level.
O’Keefe and Marra will report to Curtis and all three will continue to serve on the company's executive committee.
