R&Q set to acquire Inceptum Insurance

Randall & Quilter II Holdings, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bermuda-based Randall & Quilter Investment Holdings, has signed an agreement to acquire the entire issued share capital of Inceptum Insurance Company.

Inceptum, a part of the Vibe Group of companies that was incorporated in England & Wales in 1998, was placed into run-off in September 2009 and sold by the HSBC group to Syndicate Holding on 30 September 2011. Its sale to R&Q remains subject to regulatory approval.

Paul Corver, group head of M&A at R&Q, said he saw clear evidence of increased demand for legacy solutions throughout 2020. “While logistically it has taken longer to complete deals due to COVID-19, we are pleased to report that we have a healthy pipeline of opportunities and a number of further transactions which are nearing completion,” he said.
