The property/casualty line of business will be led by Tad Walker, specialty lines will be led by Charles Goldie, and life and health will continue to be led by Marvin Pestcoe.

Further to these executive appointments, PartnerRe has selected leaders for each of the business sub-segments.

For the property/casualty business, Dick Sanford will lead North American operations; Alain Flandrin will run Asia Pacific; Salvatore Orlando will lead the Middle East, Africa and Russia, and ad interim Latin America; and finally, Greg Haft will lead global catastrophe and worldwide catastrophe programmes.

For specialty lines, Rinat Bekteleuov will lead agriculture; Benjamin Weber will lead aviation and space; Christophe Renia will run financial risks; Ian Houston will lead specialty property; and Charles Goldie will head specialty marine, offshore energy and multiline.

For life and health, Dean Graham will run life and Daniel Bolgar will run health.

PartnerRe has also appointed Scott Altstadt to the role of chief underwriting officer.

Reporting to Emmanuel Clarke, president and chief executive officer, Altstadt will be responsible for pricing, modelling and non-catastrophe retrocession.

Hervé Castella will continue to be responsible for sourcing third party capital and catastrophe retrocession, as head of third party capital, reporting to Walker.

Clarke said: “We are delighted to appoint such highly experienced professionals to lead our underwriting teams.

“All of these individuals bring a wealth of knowledge and a strong client orientation to their roles. I am confident that together with their teams they will help ensure we are achieving our ambition to build meaningful partnerships with our clients and brokers.”
