Bermuda-based Oil Casualty Insurance, a provider of excess property and liability insurance to a broad array of industries with a focus on the energy industry, has recruited a senior underwriter from Tokio Millennium Re Bermuda.
Christopher Carpol will join the company later this summer as senior reinsurance underwriter responsible for overseeing Oil’s assumed reinsurance operations. Carpol previously held the position of assistant vice president – specialty casualty with Tokio Millennium Re Bermuda.
Jerry Rivers, chief operating officer of Oil Casualty Insurance, said: “The reinsurance operation which began in 2009 is now the Company’s largest line of business with written premium of just over $124 million at fiscal year ended November 30, 2017. Chris’s experience and specialty underwriting expertise is ideal for the varied types of reinsurance business underwritten by OCIL.”
Oil Casualty Insurance also underwrites casualty, property and specialty treaty reinsurance. Energy operations insured by OCIL include exploration and production, refining and marketing, pipelines, petrochemicals, electric/gas utilities, mining and integrated energy companies.
