New head of product underwriting at Peak Re

Peak Re has hired Piotr Nowakowski as director and head of product underwriting for the its property and casualty business. He will join the Hong Kong-headquartered business, parent of Bermuda’s Peak Capital, next month.

Nowakowski will be responsible for the underwriting function, including governance and controls, portfolio management, and product development for the company’s global P&C business. Based in Hong Kong, he will report to the firm’s chief executive officer Franz Josef Hahn.

Nowakowski joins from Swiss-based reinsurer Echo Re, where he was chief underwriting officer ( replaced by Bernina Re’s Paul Hertelendy). Previously, he was with SCOR for over 16 years in senior roles, including head of strategy and development and general secretary of SCOR Global P&C.
