Neon adds to Bermuda team

Neon, a specialist Lloyd’s insurer, has hired Tom Hulst and Gavin Hunter as non-executive directors of Neon’s Bermuda operations, effective immediately.

Hulst has joined Neon with over 20 years of experience, having held several senior positions with re/insurers in Bermuda and the US.

Most recently, Hulst served as the chief executive of Ariel Re and before that he held various positions within the General Re Group. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Bermuda International Companies.

Hunter joins Neon from specialist re/insurance consulting firm BenchStrength International. Prior to serving as chairman and president of BenchStrength, he was the chief operational officer of North American re/insurance software company Rebus Systems.

With over 30 years of experience in the industry and management expertise, Hunter is also credited for launching BenchStrength in the US, London and Bermuda markets, and Rebus units in the US and Bermuda.

“Following the successful launch of Neon’s Bermuda office earlier this year, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Tom and Gavin to the board,” said Martin Reith, CEO of Neon.

“They are both highly credible individuals and bring extensive experience of leading and growing successful businesses in Bermuda. I look forward to their strategic guidance and working with them as we continue to drive Neon’s international expansion in 2017 and beyond.”

Neon opened an office in Bermuda earlier this year to grow its international footprint.
