Mosaic starts podcast amid ‘heightened uncertainty’

Mosaic Insurance has launched a podcast series exploring the impact fast-changing risks are having on people, businesses, and global economies. The Mosaic Moment series offers informed insights on economic and geopolitical themes affecting the commercial insurance industry and communities around the world.

At 15 minutes or less, each episode features a Mosaic underwriting executive and their expert guest from government, academia or other spheres discussing fast-changing global risks.

“We want to deliver insightful discussion around complex and strategically important topics at a time of heightened uncertainty,” said Mosaic co-founder and co-chief executive officer Mark Wheeler. “The ongoing dialogue and constructive engagement with clients and capital partners is a testament to the series’ value.”

Trending threats highlighted in each snapshot conversation align with Mosaic’s six lines of business—including cyber, transactional liability, and political risk. Launched this spring, with more planned this fall, the series comprises three episodes produced to date:

  • The Cyber Conundrum: Mosaic’s Global Head of Cyber Yosha DeLong speaks with Vince Voci, Executive Director for Cyber Policy and Operations at the US Chamber of Commerce, about rising attacks on critical infrastructure, proposed SEC rules for reporting cyber-attacks, and whether the Russia-Ukraine conflict signals the future of large-scale cyber war;
  • The Big Deal Around M&A: Mosaic’s Global Head of Transactional Liability Bill Monat talks with Aaron Slavens, a leading M&A and private-equity attorney at Holland & Knight Miami. They discuss market conditions in Q2, the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war, and transactional trends that could shape the landscape for the rest of the year;
  • Risk-Sharing for Ukraine: Mosaic’s Head of Political Risk Finn McGuirk and Martin Blum, Head of Desk Strategy and Capital Markets Development for Vienna-based Raiffeissen Bank International, discuss the macroeconomic impact of Ukraine’s conflict and how best to facilitate private-sector participation in the war-wracked nation’s eventual reconstruction.

“The concept was to create a dynamic, relevant conversation that offers engaging perspectives in an easily consumable format,” said Mosaic’s chief communications officer Rosemary Jones. “We’re proud to spotlight our highly knowledgeable in-house experts and guest colleagues, and while our target audience may be brokers and risk managers, we think their conversations will prove interesting beyond our industry, too.”
