LSM to support 2019 Relay for Life event

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has announced it is supporting Bermuda’s Relay For Life fundraiser event in May.

For the sixth year in succession, over 60 staff from Liberty Specialty Markets Bermuda and their families will take part in what is one of the island’s largest annual fundraising events.

Relay For Life is a 24-hour event at which teams, cancer survivors and caregivers take part in a relay-style walk. Each team is asked to have a member on the track at all times in order to signify that cancer never sleeps. In addition to raising much-needed funds, the relay honours cancer survivors and remembers family and friends who succumbed to the disease.

The Bermuda Relay For Life attracts more than 5,000 people and has raised over $3.8 million for cancer awareness and treatment on the island. LSM Bermuda will be the presenting sponsor again this year.

This annual event has been an enormous success and in five years has raised funds to successfully open a radiation facility at Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.

“Bermudians and residents alike will not have to travel abroad, away from their family, jobs and daily lives to receive treatment, they can be treated right here at home.  Also, services will be provided to all residents regardless of their level of health insurance or ability to pay.  Liberty Specialty Markets is honoured to be a continued part of this event that impacts the entire Bermuda community.”
