18-02-2020

Laurance Yahia, Liberty Mutual’s senior vice president and treasurer since 2003, will retire on April 3, 2020, drawing the curtain on a career that has seen him give 35 years to the company.

Yahia will be replaced in that role by Edward Pena. Pena joined Liberty Mutual in 2017 as vice president and director of investor relations, responsible for maintaining and developing the company's rating agency and investor relationships, and for leading capital modeling and competitive analysis. In 2019, he assumed the additional responsibilities of managing the company's debt and liquidity strategy.

Pena previously worked at ProSight Specialty Insurance, where he was vice president of finance, leading capital and financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, and treasury.

David Long, chairman and chief executive officer at Liberty Mutual, described Pena as “a proven leader with the expertise, influence and innovative thinking to continue driving impact and opportunity for our company."
