Latin American expansion important for MS Amlin

MS Amlin, which has a presence on Bermuda, has confirmed its ongoing expansion into the Latin American market with the appointment of Frank Padilla, as senior international casualty underwriter based in Miami.

The company said that Latin America is a strategically important region for it and that the appointment of Padilla underlines its commitment to servicing clients locally, whilst continuing to develop opportunities and build on partnerships for existing clients, who have a vested interest in this region.

Padilla joins MS Amlin from XL Catlin, where he was casualty underwriter for the Latin American and Caribbean region. With over 13 years of experience working in the Latin American market, he will be responsible for developing the international casualty account for the region, combining his experience of local markets and customs, with the technical knowledge and support from the team in London.

"Latin America is a key growth market in our international strategy," said Mark Clements, head of property & casualty international at MS Amlin. "We are committed to ensuring the needs of our clients in this region are well-serviced. Frank’s seniority and knowledge of the Latin American market will prove invaluable as we expand our proposition in this region and continue to enhance the services we offer our brokers and clients on a global basis."
