Lancashire names CEO of Cathedral Underwriting

Bermuda-based insurance company Lancashire Holdings has appointed Emily Woolley as CEO of Cathedral Underwriting (CUL), its Lloyd's managing agent for Syndicates 2010 and 3010.

Woolley has over 20 years of experience in the London insurance market, and most recently served as compliance director at Cathedral Underwriting. She is also a member of the CUL board and Cathedral executive management team.

Prior to that, she served as head of compliance at Canopius Group. She has also worked for Swiss Re and BMS Group.

Current CUL CEO Andrew McKee will step down from his role on January 31, 2019.

“I am delighted to see Emma assume the role of CEO at CUL," said Alex Maloney, Lancashire group CEO. "She has already established herself as a valued member of the Cathedral management team and is a respected member of the CUL Board. I would also like to thank Andrew for his contribution to CUL and the wider Group. I wish him well for the future.”

Both Syndicates underwrite on behalf of Cathedral’s own underwriting member of Lloyd’s and Syndicate 2010 also does so on behalf of third party underwriting members of Lloyd’s. Lancashire focuses on short-tail, mostly direct, specialty re/insurance risks for property, energy, marine, aviation and Lloyd's.
