Howden appoints Aon execs to new unit

Howden Re has hired three senior Aon executives to establish and lead a new disability, life & health reinsurance division in Europe, which will be based in the Netherlands and reported to Howden Re chief executive officer Bradley Maltese.

Richard Vuurman, Theo Lutgendorff and Thomas Trompert previously structured, placed and renewed 500+ disability, life and health reinsurance programmes.

Vuurman and Lutgendorff join Howden Re as executive directors, and Trompert joins as divisional director.

Maltese said these appointments reflect Howden RE’s “ability to attract the best talent in the market and our determination to deliver a quality intermediary service to our clients in the face of challenging market conditions.”
