Bermuda-based Hiscox Re has appointed Reeva Bakshi as chief financial officer and Paresh Thakrar as chief operating officer.
Bakshi will be based in Bermuda, having held senior positions within Hiscox after moving to the company from ACE. Thakrar will be based in Hiscox’s London offices, having been head of strategy and business analysis at McKinsey and previously worked at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Commenting on the appointments, Jeremy Pinchin, Hiscox Re’s CEO, says: “We formed Hiscox Re as a direct response to the fundamental changes which are challenging the traditional reinsurance model.”
“Both Reeva and Paresh will bring a great deal of strategic know-how to our business as we continue to adapt to take advantage of the opportunities in this new market environment. They will be a great asset to our business and I look forward to working together as we take Hiscox Re to the next stage of our development.”
Hiscox Re was formed in 2013 following the bifurcation of Hiscox’s insurance and reinsurance business. Hiscox Re combines the reinsurance underwriting capabilities of Hiscox’s Bermuda, London and Paris underwriting operations, all under the overall leadership of Pinchin.
