Haverford Bermuda chairman becomes IOD fellow

Reinsurer Haverford Bermuda has announced that its chairman, William Fawcett, has been named a life fellow of the UK-based Institute of Directors.

Fawcett was recognised for his long international business career and service as a corporate director. After serving in the military, Fawcett qualified as a lawyer in the UK, the US and Bermuda. He worked as a trial lawyer and general counsel of an NYSE-traded company before transferring to operational roles.

Fawcett has thirty years’ experience in the global insurance and reinsurance sectors and has been involved in several successful start-ups including Endurance Specialty, Flagstone Re and St Bernard.

His board experience includes chairman roles at Haverford Bermuda and St Bernard Assure. Additionally, he has served on the boards of Mosaic Underwriting Services, Haverford BPO Private, St Bernard Assure, Flagstone Reinsurance Africa, and Mont Fort Re.
