Guyler-Alaniz joins AgriSompo, spearheads Sompo’s diversity efforts

Sompo International Holdings has appointed Marji Guyler-Alaniz as senior vice president of communications, risk and operations for AgriSompo North America.

AgriSompo is the carrier’s crop insurance platform, made up of ARMTech and Diversified Crop Insurance Services.

Guyler-Alaniz brings over a decade of risk management experience within the corporate crop insurance industry and was the president and founder of FarmHer, an organisation dedicated to celebrating the contribution women make to agriculture.

Guyler-Alaniz reports to Bob Haney, executive chairman of AgriSompo and chief executive officer of AgriSompo North America. She leads internal and external communications, organisational integration efforts and Federal government and crop insurance programme relations, and engages with operations and reinsurance.

She also participates in Sompo International's inclusive workplace strategy, emphasising diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the organisation, and spearheads inclusion and diversity efforts.

Haney called Guyler-Alaniz “a strong leader with an innovative approach to reaching a diverse array of today’s farmers.”

Guyler-Alaniz added: “Through the formation of AgriSompo North America, it is evident that Sompo International is an organization committed to delivering best-in-class service and investing in the future of the agriculture industry.”
