Guy Carpenter has announced the appointment of Simon Smith as head of EMEA & International P&I Business, effective 1st September.
Smith will be responsible for all the global marine & energy team’s activities in the region and will also oversee all international P&I business. He will be based in London and will report to James Summers, head of global marine & energy.
Smith has 30 years of experience in the marine market and was previously executive vice president at Skuld Services Limited responsible for business development, as well as being a member of the firm’s management board. Prior to this, he was a senior broker in the marine reinsurance sector for over 20 years.

He brings a wealth of knowledge from a regional standpoint and we believe that along with the rest of our international team helps ensure a first class proposition for our clients and prospects in the region.
