Grant Thornton builds out Bermuda team, seeks actuaries

Grant Thornton has started to build out its team in its newly-launched Bermuda operation, launched as a result of Arthur Morris & Company joining its network – and it is actively seeking to hire more senior actuaries.

Grant Thornton Ireland announced the expansion to Bermuda in January. Its six-strong team so far comprises a mixture of individuals from Arthur Morris & Company and staff who have moved from offices elsewhere. The latter include Andrew Howie, head of advisory services; Niamh Meenan, head of audit and assurance; and Tanya Beattie, head of actuarial.

It has been active on social media in recent weeks seeking more experienced actuaries in the property/casualty space.

When the announcement was first made, Howie said: “The expansion of Grant Thornton in the Bermuda market will support internationally focused clients to navigate the current economic landscape and arm them to become more resilient in the face of challenges posed by global market volatility, inflationary pressures and technological change. This move will also offer significant employment opportunities through open roles as well as promising excellent career development avenues for current team members in Bermuda.”
