Gallagher builds its Norwegian marine and energy capabilities with Parisco acquisition

Gallagher has acquired Oslo-based marine and energy broker Parisco.

Parisco was founded in 2001 and serves contractors, offshore service vessels, exploration and production companies, shipping, passenger vessels and renewable energy clients. Dag Magne Torjussen, its chief executive officer, and his team of ten will join forces with Oslo-based Bergvall Marine, Gallagher’s existing specialist marine broker in Norway, under the direction of managing director Anders Mjaaland.

Vyvienne Wade, Gallagher’s chair for Europe, the Middle East and Asia, noted that Parisco’s portfolio of specialisms are highly complementary with Bergvall’s existing business lines. “The team’s expertise in renewables will be highly beneficial as existing clients diversify further into sustainable energy and we grow our client base across Northern Europe,” she said.
Wade added: “We have ambitious international expansion plans, in particular for businesses that complement our existing areas of expertise and that are culturally aligned to Gallagher and our focus on client service and ethics.”

Mjaaland added: “The bringing together of Bergvall and Parisco will create a Norwegian broking team with unrivalled expertise in our specialist areas of marine and energy.”

Torjussen added: “Partnering with Bergvall and becoming part of a global broker will enable us to take the business to its next stage of evolution, and will add broader capabilities, deeper industry expertise, and even greater access to international markets.”
