Ex-Validus chairman joins IQUW Bermuda board

Former Validus chairman and chief executive officer Edward Noonan (pictured) has joined the Bermuda board of IQUW Holdings.

The property speciality insurer and reinsurer said Noonan has more than 40 years experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry and is the executive chairman of Core Specialty and served as chairman of StarStone in 2019.

He was co-founder of Validus Holdings, serving as chairman and chief executive officer from its formation in 2005 until 2018.

Noonan joins the IQUW Holdings IQUW group CEO Peter Bilsby, group CFO and head of strategy Richard Hextall and former Ironshore CEO Kevin Kelley on the Bermuda board.

Bilsby said: “I am thrilled to have someone of Ed’s calibre join the IQUW Board. We have spent our first two years in business building a diverse portfolio, improving our data capabilities and developing an experienced team of underwriters. Ed’s experience and knowledge will strengthen our Board, supporting the company through its next strategic phase of growth and innovation.”
