Everest Re’s specialty division adds vice president

Everest Insurance, the specialty insurance division of Bermuda-based Everest Re Group, has appointed Rick Taute as vice president, marketing and distribution, and national wholesale distribution leader for insurance.

Taute, who will be based in Boston, joins from Lexington Insurance Company, part of AIG, where he was executive vice president of Lexington National Branch. Here he managed executives and underwriters responsible for all products within Lexington’s wholesale book of business while also overseeing wholesale broker distribution management for Lexington and AIG.

“Adding someone with Rick’s deep experience in the wholesale space to oversee the significant Everest Insurance wholesale distribution platform is an important step in servicing the growing wholesale market with streamlined access and differentiated products,” said  Dane Lopes, chief commercial officer of Everest Insurance.

He continued: “Rick, in close collaboration with the Everest Insurance dedicated wholesale underwriting units, will offer our wholesale treading partners a single access point representing the full complement of Everest Insurance specialty products. I am very excited to have Rick join the Everest team.”
