Everest expands cyber team

Everest Insurance has expanded its Everest Specialty Underwriters (ESU) financial lines group with the addition of three new cyber liability team members. This team, led by vice president and cyber practice leader Kevin Sherry, is focused on providing cyber liability coverage and solutions to firms across all industries.

Since its launch, Everest has established the fully-dedicated cyber unit in March 2018. The group works closely with cyber modeling firms, cyber security firms and incident response vendors to best provide insureds with comprehensive services.

Raphael DaCosta joins Everest as a manager, responsible for middle market and national accounts predominantly in the Northeast and Midwest regions. DaCosta comes to Everest from Zurich, where he worked as a senior underwriter focusing on security and privacy, miscellaneous professional liability, tech E&O, manufacturers E&O and employed lawyers liability. Prior to Zurich, Raphael began his underwriting career at Chubb. Raphael has a BA from Hofstra University.

Melissa Bell has joined Everest as associate Manager, and will be handling middle market and national accounts in the South and West Coast Regions. Bell comes to Everest from Arch Insurance Group, where she was an underwriter in cyber and E&O.

Jenna Belous has been hired as associate manager, responsible for middle market and national accounts in the Northeast Region. Belous was previously at Liberty Mutual, where she worked as an underwriter in data privacy and technology.

“We are thrilled to continue building out our cyber liability segment with this group of talented individuals,” said Keith Lavigne, head of management and professional liability. “This team brings to Everest a wealth of knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the intricacies and ever-changing nature of cyber insurance. They are committed to the success and growth of the segment, and will offer specialized coverage and best-in-class service to our brokers and clients.”
