Equinox Reinsurance Intermediaries, which is affiliated with Inver Re and is part of the Ardonagh Group, has made two appointments of managing director.
Jeremy Brasier has been promoted to managing director after joining ERI three years ago, while Jeff Irvan has been hired into the position.
Brasier, who has been in the Bermuda insurance market since 2002, was instrumental in the formation of ERI from its inception and has helped to create a substantial portfolio of specialty business, the company said.
He will be based in London while Irvan will be based in South Carolina. The company said the duo will help build out ERI’s specialist reinsurance capability and added that Irvan brings a property capability across the US and Canada to complement the existing portfolio of long tail business.
Irvan has 25 years of industry experience and was formerly chief property officer at BMS Group, and executive vice president at Willis Re in Atlanta.
Both roles will report to ERI’s president Nick Foden-Pattinson.
Brasier said: “I work with an incredible team and look forward to leveraging my experience within a growing and dynamic company to continue to serve the market. We have created a special business and the addition of Jeff will bring an additional expertise to our growing business.”
Foden-Pattison said: “I’m delighted to have Jeff join the team, and for Jeremy to take on his new role, which recognises his performance and exemplifies our commitment to promoting talent from within. Together, their experience and production and placement ability will help us scale up what we do, bolstering ERI’s property capabilities. As a growing team, I think we can bring more choice to the US market, and provide an agile, bespoke service for property reinsurance which is evidenced by our success to date.”
