Brit strengthens terrorism coverage in the US
Andrew Umphress has been named as vice president for terrorism at Brit Global Specialty USA (BGSU).
He is based in New York and reports to Sara Scott, underwriting director at BGSU.
Umphress joins from Validus Specialty where he was assistant vice president for war and terrorism. He has also held a number of underwriting roles during his time with the business.
Nick Davies, president of Brit Americas, said: “Brit is already an established leader for war and terrorism in the London market and enhancing that position through our US platform is a logical extension. [Umphress’] appointment underscores our ongoing strategy of hiring strong talent to support BGSU’s expertise, service and products as we focus on opportunities for scalability with sustained returns.”
